The goals of KSP are to develop joint initiatives in the fields of research, teaching, capacity building, students support, and knowledge exchange. KSP aims at supporting partnerships to boost collaboration in a wide array of major fields of interests.

Components of the Program:

  • Kuwait Chair at Sciences Po: The 2-year chair position support a researcher with a focus on developing original research and teaching on the Arab World and the Gulf Region.
  • Kuwait Program Visiting Professors: The Program supports one Visiting Professor position annually for an appointment duration of one semester to be based at Sciences Po. The program targets researchers in the social sciences with an interest in the Gulf region and the Arab world and, ideally with a focus on Kuwait and/or the GCC countries.
  • Research Activities: calls for research projects are announced by Science Po based on the identified needs of local stakeholders in Kuwait set by KFAS.
  • Platform for Debate: The program operates an annual series of events, taking place in Kuwait with the goals of diffusing research and knowledge, raising visibility of the Program in Kuwait, and spreading information about Science Po. in Kuwait. Furthermore, the program sends one guest speaker per semester to give a public lecture in Kuwait on priority topics within the social sciences and the humanities. Moreover, major conferences are held with the objective of contributing to the advancement of research and public debate around Kuwait, the Gulf region and the Arab world.
  • Student Activities: The Student Paper Award distinguishes outstanding student at Science Po. And Kuwaiti Universities who develop papers written on a topic related to the study of the Arab World and the Gulf Region
